What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive Technology Instructor position at Essex Westford School District?
Essex Westford School District (EWSD) has an opportunity for a passionate educator to join the Center for Technology Essex (CTE) team, beginning in the 25/26 school year to teach the Automotive Technology course. The position provides students with the academic and technical automotive and motorsport service and repair skills necessary to enter employment with entry level job skills or to prepare them for post secondary certificate and degree programs in the automotive and motorsport field. Provide classroom and hands-on “living laboratory” or field work educational experiences.
EWSD is committed to considering out-of-state candidates who are eligible to hold a Vermont educator license but do not yet hold a license in this state.

Candidates with the following additional qualifications are encouraged to apply:
- Hold or be eligible to hold a VT Educator license with a Career and Technical Education endorsement(11-17L)
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications required
- Knowledge or background in Career and Technicla Student Organization Standards
- Associate’s Degree, or the equivalent, AND four or more years of recent industry experience; OR high school diploma (or equivalent) plus some college credits and the ability to complete an Associates degree and the Mentor Program within three years, AND six or more years of recent industry experience
- Experience dealing with adolescents with special needs or at risk of dropping out of school preferred
- Commitment and demonstrated ability to work with a team toward common goals.
