What are the responsibilities and job description for the Long-Term Special Educator-Integration Specialist Substitute position at Essex Westford School District?
Essex Westford School District (EWSD) has an immediate opportunity for a full-time Long-Term Special Educator-integration specialist Substitute to focus on supporting students in our ExCEL Program at Essex High School. Students who participate in this program require support with communication, social behavior, cognitive processing, mobility, personal care, and self-regulation. The overall goal of the program is to help students become as independent as possible in school, the community, and on the job as they earn a high school diploma. Students attend some classes within the special education program designed to enhance academics and build independence. Most students also participate in some mainstream classes and the supported employment program.
The position will case manage, coordinate, and implement effective and efficient interventions designed to meet the needs of assigned students, including academic needs, and effectively integrate students into the least restrictive environment. The position shall involve consultation and collaboration with SLP, OT, PT, and teacher teams, and evaluating and developing intervention programs with a focus on functional academics.
EWSD is committed to considering out-of-state candidates who are eligible to hold a Vermont educator license but do not yet hold a license in this state.
