QUALIFICATIONS :
- Michigan Department of Education teacher certification in the following endorsement area : DX or DI endorsement
- Successful preparation for and attainment of high student achievement through effective instructional practices
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with students of all ability levels to meet academic, behavioral and emotional needs
- Proven ability to collaborate and communicate with parents and other educators verbally and in writing
- Ability to foster a classroom culture that is engaging, student-focused, and effectively managed
- Proficiency in the use of technology including but not limited to Skyward, Google Docs and Google Classroom, etc.
JOB SUMMARY :
Essexville-Hampton Public Schools is seeking a dynamic, energetic science teacher who maintains a positive learning environment, holds high academic expectations, and creates a student-centered classroom.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
Provide instruction to a class, individual students, or groups of students using a variety of effective instructional strategiesEstablishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior and creates a safe, orderly, and effective environment for learningMotivates students to develop an interest in and an appreciation of the science and STEM area.Develops clear and concise instructional lesson plans and organizes class time to provide a balance of instruction, practice, and assessmentProvides individual and small group instruction and adapts the curriculum to the needs of students with varying abilitiesEvaluates student learning and understanding and prepares regular progress reportsConferences regularly with parents / guardians regarding behavior observations and the performance of studentsIdentifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problemsMaintains thorough records for each studentSelects, requisitions, and maintains books, instructional materials, and instructional aidsModels non-discriminatory practices in all activitiesJOB REQUIREMENTS :
Michigan Teaching Certificate and meet Highly Qualified Teacher StatusPlan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning relevant to MI-Star CurriculumWork with or understand Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)Work with or understand Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS)Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategiesParticipate in department, school, district, and parent meetingsDemonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds.SALARY : Per EHEA Contract
