- Develop and implement HR policies to mitigate legal risks
- Act as a trusted resource for employee concerns, providing support and guidance for workplace matters
- Stay current on employment laws and industry regulations, proactively applying updates to maintain company compliance
- Assist the Finance team with accurate biweekly payroll processing
- Maintain comprehensive payroll records and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Partner with managers on disciplinary actions, ensuring documentation, fairness, and consistency
- Manage the annual benefits renewal process and assist employees with enrollment and benefits administration
- Guide managers through the termination process, ensuring documentation accuracy and compliance
- Partner with leadership to evaluate and enhance compensation strategies for internal equity and market competitiveness
- Lead a seamless onboarding experience for new hires, ensuring a smooth and positive transition into the company
- Collaborate with departments to align onboarding activities with company culture and expectations
- Create, revise, and maintain the employee handbook to reflect current company policies and legal requirements
- Conduct insightful exit interviews to capture feedback for continuous improvement
- Provide coaching and best-practice guidance to managers and employees
- Organize compliance training and support employee development initiatives
- Maintain accurate and compliant HR records in physical and digital formats
- Track and manage employee leave, benefits participation, and other essential HR data
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field (preferred)
- Seven (7) years of progressive HR experience, ideally within small to mid-sized organizations
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP (Society for Human Resource Management), and/or PHR or SPHR (HR Certification Institute) certifications are highly desirable
- Experience in standalone or single-incumbent HR roles is a strong advantage
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and the Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with payroll systems (Paycom preferred)
- In-depth understanding of employment laws, compliance, and HR best practices
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
- Collaborative, problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach
