GENERAL FUNCTION
Provides technical support in maintaining Oakley's manufacturing equipment by performing routine diagnostic checks and preventative maintenance on automated systems, isolating problems and performing mechanical, electronic, and computerized repairs. Troubleshoot robotic systems, using knowledge of microprocessors, programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, sensor or feedback systems, hydraulics, or pneumatics.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Working closely with Engineers and Tech Support Technicians to make adjustments, upgrades and improvements on automated equipment.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with systems, and determining if the problem is mechanical, electrical or from the computer systems controlling the process.
- Repairing or replacing any necessary components, such as a sensor or electrical wiring and implementing solutions that will prevent the problems from recurring.
- Assembling and commissioning fixtures, equipment, machines, and robotic equipment.
- Assisting with applications development, as needed.
- Maintaining, servicing and documenting equipment changes and providing feedback to Tech Support and Automation teams.
- Become the system expert of ABB Yumi robots including repair / replacement of all mechanical, electrical or electronic subsystems.
- Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment and thoroughly document all actions and repairs in the SAP Plant Maintenance Module
- Ensure rapid equipment return to service by performing thorough in-depth troubleshooting on any non-functioning or faulted system, subsystem or component.
- Troubleshoot equipment using computer interfaces and custom software.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics and service manuals.
- Responsible for cleanup of equipment and removal of replaced parts from work areas after repairs are completed.
