General Function

The IT Project Manager for our EyeMed technology team will be responsible for overseeing and managing Java-based technical projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope and on budget. In addition, the project manager is responsible for monthly financial reports and tracking Statements of Work (SOWs).

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and deliver Java-based software development projects, ensuring projects meet scope, quality, and timeline requirements
  • Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, milestones, resource allocation, and project deliverables
  • Track project progress, monitor resource usage, and maintain project schedules, ensuring that key deadlines are met
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (developers, business analysts, QA, etc.) to ensure alignment and efficiency across teams
  • Communicate project status, risks and issues to stakeholders and leadership in a clear and concise manner
  • Facilitate project meetings including steering committee meetings
  • Accurately transcribe, create, update and distribute meeting minutes
  • Manage project scope and change requests to ensure project goals are met within budget and timeline constraints
  • Continuously improving project management processes and tools to increase efficiency and effectiveness
  • Oversee Statements of Work (SOWs) for external resources
  • Prepare and present monthly financial reports, including budget tracking, resource allocation, and expenditure forecasting
  • Manage and track project budgets, identifying any budget or financial risks
  • Ensure all financial documentation, including invoices, contracts, and SOWs, are properly managed and in compliance with company policies

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business, Finance, or a related field
  • 7 years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years specifically managing Java-based software development projects
  • Proven ability to manage project budgets, track external resources, and produce financial reports, including experience with SOWs and vendor management
  • Solid understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies and experience managing cross-functional teams
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Microsoft Project, etc.)
  • Strong experience in financial reporting
  • Strong familiarity with Java-based applications, software development, and technical project delivery
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Exceptional financial management skills, including budget creation, financial forecasting, and vendor cost tracking
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities
  • Ability to think critically and make informed decisions
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Project Management (PMP, PMI-ACP, or similar)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Familiarity with healthcare industry standards, regulations (e.g., HIPAA), and claims processing systems

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
