About The Role
Essity North America is looking for an experienced Packaging Engineer who is responsible for designing and developing product packaging to ensure product integrity for manufacturing, storage and shipping, resulting in cost savings, efficiencies and prevention of damaged product.
The ideal candidate should/could live ideally in Philadelphia, PA but can be any main Essity USA office.

About The Role
Essity North America is looking for an experienced Packaging Engineer who is responsible for designing and developing product packaging to ensure product integrity for manufacturing, storage and shipping, resulting in cost savings, efficiencies and prevention of damaged product.

What You Will Do
- Responsible for the technical and structural design of packaging for products in the Professional Hygiene assortment, ensuring alignment with overall business needs.
- Lead the evaluation, modification, and creation of packaging designs and unit loads that optimize converting, handling, and logistics efficiency
- Occasionally spearhead mill/converting teams focused on packaging optimization, in close collaboration with Product Management, Product Supply, and Sourcing.
- Develop and manage packaging components within SAP and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Collaborate with external vendors to create innovative designs and detailed specifications.
- Lead initiatives focused on realizing cost savings in packaging.
- Assess and qualify new materials and vendors.
- Collaborate with Product Management and GMI to design and implement new packaging solutions that align with strategic business goals.
- Bachelors degree required ideally in packaging engineering or equivalent.
- 2 years of Packaging Engineering experience.
- Project Management experience.
- Experience from manufacturing environment and packaging machinery relative to line trials in the packaging process and performance issues.
- Strong communication skills.
- Self starter and motivated.
- Travel up to 20% of the time domestic and potentially international.
