What You Will Do:
- Assist the Survey Crew Chief with all day to day operations of a two-person or three-person survey crew for boundary, topographic and construction surveys for a wide variety of public and private projects.
- Specific duties include the following:
- assists Survey Crew Chief in attaining thorough and accurate data collection;
- set stakes for construction surveys;
- operate GPS and robotic Total Station;
- check calculations on cut sheets;
- run and reduce notes for level loops;
- set-up, calibrate, use and maintain survey field equipment and
- keep the survey vehicle clean and organized.
- Travel, including overnight stays, is sometimes required.
What You Will Bring:
- Highschool Diploma or GED, Pursuing a 2 or 4 year degree
- good communication skills,
- reliable and able to follow multiple step directions,
- ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains;
- a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Preferred: ability to operate Trimble GPS, Total Stations, and other survey equipment;
- Preferred: Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D or MicroStation/Geopak.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
You must be comfortable working in all weather conditions. Due to the physical nature of the work, you must be able to lift 50 lbs. – 75 lbs. periodically. You’re required to work with your hands, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. At times you may be working at or on uneven terrain, slopes, in confined spaces, or reinforced trenches.
