To be considered a qualified candidate for this position, you should have a good eye for detail, excellent hand-eye coordination, above-average troubleshooting and communication skills. Ultimately a topflight calibration technician will work quickly and methodically to ensure equipment is safe for operation and calibrated to the industry standards and produce testing equipment certifications.
What you will do:
- Calibrating and certifying equipment to industry standards. (ASTM, AASHTO, TXDOT, etc.)
- Traveling to clients’ location for equipment inspections.
- Maintaining calibration equipment, supplies and calibration records.
- Completing accurate calibration reports for customers using Microsoft Excel.
- Performing routine equipment maintenance.
- Troubleshooting equipment failures.
- Conducting equipment repairs.
- Suggesting equipment upgrades.
- Responding to client queries.
What you will bring:
- A high school diploma or GED with good math and typing skills, computer and spreadsheet experience.
- Relevant industry certification is preferred.
- Experience as a calibration technician is preferred.
- Extensive experience with equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to stand, crouch, and kneel for extended periods.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Extensive travel is required throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas with company supplied vehicle.
- Ability to travel extensively, and stay overnight; this would come with per diem at a GSA rate.
- Competency with calibration equipment and software including Microsoft Excel.
- A good driving record.
