We are seeking a Senior Cloud & Web Applications Developer for a Hybrid assignment (3 days/wk on-site in Austin, and Looking for someone local to the Austin area.
We seek a Senior Cloud & Web Applications Developer for a Hybrid assignment (3 days/wk on-site in Austin) with expertise in modernizing legacy systems and developing enterprise-level applications using Microsoft technologies. This role requires proficiency in cloud computing, web development, and database technologies, including Azure, C#.NET, ASP.NET, SQL Server, and NoSQL. The ideal candidate will have experience automating and integrating web/cloud solutions, designing and developing scalable applications, and implementing best practices in security, testing, and deployment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to lead programming projects, collaborate with IT teams, and provide technical guidance are essential. Experience working in a government environment and knowledge of JCMS are preferred. This position offers considerable autonomy and requires initiative, independent judgment, and efficient management of complex projects.
Job Duties
- Performs advanced (senior-level) computer programming work using current cloud and web technologies to analyze, code, test, and debug complex computer applications and administrative systems, prepare flowcharts and systems diagrams; and assist with the preparation of user and system documentation.
- Work involves overseeing programming projects in a lead capacity, analyzing proposed applications, and designing software solutions.
- Develops, designs, and implements software applications for a variety of multifaceted projects requiring proficiency with Microsoft tools/technologies and their integration into application solutions and the modernization of agency legacy systems to cloud computing environments.
- Plans and collaborates programming assignments with and provides technical assistance to other programmers and Information Technology team members and staff throughout the agency.
- May supervise the work of others.
- Works under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
- May be required to work in excess of 40 hours per workweek.
Requirements
- Experience automating and integrating web/cloud computing technologies.
- Experience with the following web development and database technologies: the current versions of HTML, Java Script, and jQuery, CSS, ASP.Net (including Web API, Web Pages, Web Forms, and MVC), C#.NET, legacy .Net Framework 4.x, NHibernate, AJAX, T-SQL, NoSQL, Ruby on Rails, Python, Entity Framework, and responsive design.
- Experience converting an enterprise-level, legacy or client-server information system into a web-based system built with ASP.NET and C#.NET,
- Experience with Distributed Systems (Azure Bus, NServiceBus)
- Experience developing applications using Microsoft Azure SQL Server (NoSQL), including SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Server Integration Services, and SQL Server Reporting Services.
- Experience using and administering Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services.
- Experience working for a governmental entity.
- PowerShell experience.
- Understanding of distributed version-control systems such as Git; and utilizing tools such as GitHub, Azure DevOps,
- SourceTree or Bitbucket.
- Understanding the benefits of cloud architecture in creating cloud native applications.
- Understanding security, development, unit and integration testing, and deployment concepts in a cloud-based environment.
- Development and support experience in JCMS (Preferred)
