Tableau Developer/Administrator

We seek a Tableau Developer/Administrator with a background and experience in Public Sector environments for a long-term assignment.
This hybrid model requires working from home on the remaining days and spending at least 1-2 days weekly in the Austin, TX, office.
Job Description
The selected candidate will support public health data reporting and management by developing dashboards and reports using Tableau and Power BI. The role requires translating business requirements into effective visual reports, ensuring data accuracy, and collaborating with program staff for optimal outcomes. Additionally, the candidate will play a key role in cloud resource management, tool upgrades, performance tuning, and overall administration of Tableau.
Responsibilities:

• Develop, design, and maintain Tableau/Power BI dashboards and reports based on business needs.
• Analyze user requirements, operational procedures, and existing reporting capabilities to optimize data visualization.
• Manage and configure Tableau as an administrator, including cloud resource management, tool and server upgrades, user and access control, and performance tuning.
• Support public health information reporting and ensure compliance with state data standards.
• Conduct data analysis, troubleshoot issues, and optimize reporting performance for large-scale datasets.
• Participate in testing, publishing, and promoting reports in collaboration with program staff.
• Perform cost-benefit analysis for system enhancements and provide recommendations for improvements.

Minimum Qualifications:

Years	Required/Preferred	Experience
8	Required	Experience conducting business and data analysis to develop reporting requirements.
8	Required	Hands-on experience with Tableau for dashboard/report creation.
5	Required	Experience working with large-scale datasets in Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, or similar databases.
5	Required	Experience with Tableau administration, including server upgrades, cloud resource management, and performance tuning.
5	Required	Experience working in an Agile development environment

Must be local to Austin, TX
Must have prior experience in the public sector or working with government agencies.
Prefer a strong background in managing and reporting public health information.
