Estate Planning Paralegal
We are an expanding estate planning and elder law firm that provides an open and friendly working environment for all our employees. We practice exclusively in the area of Estate Planning, Elder Law and the Administration of Estates. We are seeking an experienced estate planning paralegal to draft estate planning documents and coach clients through the estate planning process.
Candidates should have a two year or higher degree, preferably in paralegal studies and have experience drafting estate planning documents. The applicant should be highly motivated to succeed and draw energy from the pride attributed to their firm contributions. Compensation will be largely based upon his or her accomplishments both individually and firm-wide. This person must have excellent computer skills and a heart committed to clients and the health and growth of the firm. Familiarity with MyCase is a definite plus.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS POSITION YOU MUST:
- Be experienced at drafting estate planning documents
- Have sufficient knowledge to be able to answer general estate planning questions
- Be detail oriented, highly organized, and efficient
- Follow up before being asked
- Help keep the attorneys organized and on task
- Convey a sense of urgency and priority to clients. Let them know that we are working hard for them.
- Possess strong computer skills
- Be proactive -- recognize and resolve issues before they become genuine problems or a crisis without being directed to do so

DESCRIPTION OF THE PARALEGAL JOB:
- Drafting documents
- Notarizing documents for clients
- Basic legal research
- Maintaining and organizing the firm forms directory
- Assist attorney with creating legal work product as directed by attorney
- Primary client point of contact for status update/simple questions regarding estate planning cases
- Be in charge of the executions of estate planning documents that you have been responsible for drafting and revising
- Valuable team player
COMPENSATION: Dependent upon experience
