Position Description
Position Title: Attorney Location: Onsite - New Hartford
Department: Legal Services - Operations FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports to: Legal Services Coordinator Hours Per Week: 40 Hours/Full Time
Salary Range: $65,000.00 - $120,000.00 Work Days/Hours: Monday – Friday
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Position Summary
The Attorney supports the vision and mission of the Estate Planning Law Center (EPLC) by providing legal counsel to clients seeking advice on estate planning, asset protection, elder law, Medicaid, and post-death administration. This role is crucial to the firm's success, as attorneys are responsible for identifying client needs and offering tailored legal solutions in line with the firm’s services and processes. The Attorney will independently manage estate planning and post-death administration client matters, lead support staff in delivering legal work, and maintain the firm's high reputation through professional and community relationships. The role also involves collaborating with the leadership team and contributing to the development and implementation of law firm technology, systems, and workflows. All law firm employees must always maintain confidentiality regarding clients, company interest, and employees.
Duties and Responsibilities
¨ To be skilled in listening and issues identification to be able to show prospects the value we can provide so they willingly engage us.
¨ Establish and maintain professional and community relationships to generate referrals for the firm.
¨ Provide quality customer service to clients, potential clients, and their families, including all client calls/emails and correspondence are handled in a timely manner.
¨ Highly skilled in providing counsel for Estate Planning, Asset Protection, Medicaid Planning, and Post-Death Administration.
¨ Adhere to all internal law firm systems and processes in delivering legal work to clients.
¨ Manage and oversee all client matters in our client management system that they are assigned; and assist on matters not assigned when required.
¨ Attend all court hearings required by the firm.
¨ Collaborate with financial and marketing managers when necessary.
¨ Actively participates in the required company calls and meetings and provides weekly reporting.
¨ Complete rocks, projects or tasks as requested by supervisor within the time frame allotted.
¨ Attend TAPER events and other networking/convention events as needed.
¨ Willingness to travel to remote law firm locations or to client homes, hospitals etc. when required.

Qualifications Required
Academic:
· J.D. degree
· NY State License as attorney
· 1-2 Years of experience in Estate Planning or Elder Law preferred
Skills/Knowledge & Ability:
· Above average administrative, clerical, and/or technical skills, and the ability to operate necessary office equipment and software:
Ø Computer, Telephone, Fax, Scanner, Copier, Postage Meter
Ø Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, Publisher, Power Point)

· Type proficiently and accurately at a minimum of 35 to 40 words per minute.
