SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Server is responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences through timely and accurate food and beverage service, upholding cleanliness and safety protocols. The server is also responsible for maintaining the company standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; remain attentive to the customers throughout the entire dining experience, adhering to or exceeding service standards as always established by the restaurant.
- Provide professional, competent, and prompt service to guests.
- Describes menu options and looks for opportunities to upsell to enhance the guest experience and sales.
- Collects payments and operates Point of Sale system following company-established payment handling policies and procedures for all transactions and secures all currency at the end of each shift.
- Adheres to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager or HR immediately.
- Complete safety training and certifications as decided by the company.
- Completes all restocking and cleaning duties by performing opening and closing side work as instructed.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearances are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
- Check the station assigned to you before opening for cleanliness of tables, chairs, and floor proper set-up of salt and pepper, table maintenance, sugar caddies, decoration, etc.
- Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor always.
- Follow the steps of service guidelines as established by the company.
- Takes orders and serves food and beverage items to our customers in a timely, friendly, enthusiastic, and professional manner using suggestive selling techniques.
- Describes all menu items' prices and methods of preparation.
- Must know all liquor, beers, and non-alcoholic selections.
- Know the correct glassware and garnish for each drink.
- Communicates and works closely with kitchen staff to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Anticipates guest's needs, responds promptly, and acknowledges all guests.
- Spanish language skills beneficial.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation including service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
- Knowledge of appropriate table settings, service ware, and menu items.
- The ability to carry large, heavy trays continuously throughout the shift.
- Self-motivated and resourceful, with the proven ability to multi-task and operate successfully under pressure.
- Enjoys a fast-paced, dynamic, challenging, and team-oriented work environment.
- Flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong guest service skills.
- Strong writing, reading, listening, and speaking communication skills.
- Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Cash handling and customer service experience preferred.
- Must have previous serving experience.
- Must be motivated and have excellent customer service skills
- Must obtain food handling or alcohol serving certifications required by local or state agencies.
- Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
- Food Safety Employee Training is required.
- Maintain complete knowledge of table, seat, room capacity, hours of operation, and proper table set-up of the restaurant.
- Alcohol Awareness Training
- Must successfully pass the Server Certification standards exam.

- Ability to tolerate varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.

- Normal sense of smell, touch, and sound.
- Normal vision range. Eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity. Ability to distinguish letters, symbols, or colors.
MENTAL DEMANDS
- The incumbent must also deal with a variety of people on various issues.
- Knowledge is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percentages, and ratios.
