Responsibilities:
- Provide peer support and advocacy to individuals with behavioral health challenges
- Utilize knowledge of systems and resources to assist individuals in accessing appropriate services
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized recovery plans
- Facilitate support groups and educational workshops
- Assist individuals in crisis intervention and crisis management
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to promote positive change
- Provide addiction counseling and mental health counseling as needed
- Serve as a mentor and role model for individuals seeking recovery
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Peer Specialist or willingness to obtain certification
- Experience in the behavioral health field or related field preferred
- Knowledge of mental health and addiction recovery principles
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
