Job Summary
This Dock Worker Part Time Operations Specialist position involves loading and unloading freight using various equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience in the transportation industry, possess a stable employment history, and be certified to operate a forklift. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading freight using a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, or by hand
- Securing freight to prevent damage or shifting
- Accurately recording the condition of freight upon arrival at the terminal
- Performing pre-shift and post-shift inspections of dock equipment
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Must be 17 years old or older
- Experience in the transportation industry preferred
- Stable employment history preferred
- Prior operation of a forklift or certification preferred
Physical Demands:
The physical demands of this role include lifting and moving minimums of 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
