Responsibilities

The Supervisor, International Air Freight – Exports will exclusively manage a team of dedicated Air Export personnel. The Supervisor, International Air Freight – Exports will focus on planning, developing, and executing an effective strategy for Air Export product development, expense control, and overall department profitability in partnership with the Sr. Manager International Air Freight. They will be responsible for evaluating pricing and transportation options, in order to provide exceptional customer service while overseeing the Air Export Operations Department and its international clients.

  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Outsource and negotiate air freight rates for the international market.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers and other subcontractors to support airproduct service level and rate competitiveness.
  • Overall responsibility for determining the production capacity needed to meet changingdemands both short and long-term.
  • Assess current and evolving business models in the marketplace affecting the global air freightbusiness and provide input on growth and opportunities.· Ensure all quality procedures are being monitored by overseeing and assisting stations toidentify areas of improvement, identify gaps, and ensure appropriate steps are being taken todispute resolutions.· Responsible for ensuring the dedicated Air Export personnel are meeting the highest level of service.· Assist and direct employees in answering customer inquiries and other related customer servicefunctions.· Responsible for creating and ensuring key performance indicators (KPIs) are consistently met bythe team.· Comply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures.· Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.
  • Must be able to proficiently complete air and ground shipping documents both electronically and manually.
  • Work outside of normal business hours in order to meet deadlines where necessary and as directed by management.
  • Maintain a strong work ethic, including a positive demeanor at all times and work in a cooperative and friendly manner with customers, co-workers and those with whom the employee comes into contact while fulfilling the obligations of the position.
  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree (or equivalent) in a related field and 1– 3 years of experience in transportation, logistics or other transportation business. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration. 
  • Present a professional appearance, attitude, and image with internal and external clients.
  • Demonstrate effective problem solving, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to clearly convey short and long-term defined goals.
  • Ability to speak English is a requirement of the customer.
  • Ensure complete customer satisfaction and to create repeat business opportunities.
  • Meet all deadlines 100% of the time.
  • Regular, reliable attendance.

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
