Position Overview:
We’re seeking a highly motivated Machine Operator. The Machine Operator is responsible for driving the tramway, ensuring its safe and efficient operation. This role includes conducting daily safety inspections in collaboration with the maintenance manager or general manager and maintaining accurate logs. The ideal candidate should possess basic mechanical knowledge, prioritize safety, and remain composed in situations involving irregular operational conditions.
Compensation:
- $19.00 - $28.00 / hour, pay commensurate with experience
- Paid bi-weekly
Schedule:
- This is a seasonal position. Includes weekends and some holidays.

- Strong decision-making skills, especially when working independently.
- Efficient multitasker and problem-solver in fast-paced environments.
- Quick learner, particularly with tramway operations technology.
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Adaptable team player, willing to train for multiple roles.
- Prioritizes and adheres to all safety protocols.
- Safety-conscious in all tasks.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Able to work indoors and outdoors in various mountain weather conditions.
- Capable of standing and walking for extended periods.
- Ability to lift 30 lbs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, moderate, and maintain the operation of the tramway in accordance with best practices and safety regulations.
- Ensure all records are maintained and kept up-to-date including all mechanical and operational procedures, daily maintenance, operational logs, and incidents.
- Be trained in all safety features and control items of the tramway including breakdowns, evacuation, fire, unexplained stops, lightening, and accident reporting.
- May assist in the determination of the discontinuation of operations for any lift due to mechanical, weather, or other concerns.
- Assist with development of job hazard assessments, training procedures, ensuring safety is the focus.
- Responsible for maintaining the boarding area through prompt snow removal and ensuring a safe, organized, and professional work environment.
- Compliance with company policies, safety protocols, and all applicable regulatory standards.
- Operate company vehicles safely.
- Assist with the general cleanliness of the work area, complete additional duties as assigned.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
