Job Description
Basic Function :
Under the general supervision of the Director of Operations or designee, this person will oversee the use of the theater by all users and will coordinate / organize technical aspects for any productions or other uses of the theater to ensure the safety of the equipment, students, personnel, and the general public, according to district regulations. This person will instruct, train, and supervise students and other theater employees relating to theater equipment and facilities. The Supervisor must be able to interact with community users professionally to ensure their needs are met for their events. He / She must be knowledgeable of theatrical terms as well as theatrical operations to do so. Hourly range is $23.93- $25.77 depending on experience, no benefits.
Organizational Relationship :
The Theater Facilities Supervisor reports directly to the Director of Operations or designee. They are directly responsible for the management and supervision of the Estes Park High School Auditorium.
Qualifications :
- Specialized knowledge of and experience with theater productions, facilities, equipment, and practices.
- Specialized knowledge of, and experience, with stagecraft and stage operations, including lighting, sound, rigging, and other stage equipment, and theater safety.
- Supervision, management, and training skills, including patience with students.
- Communication and problem-solving skills : Communicate effectively and tactfully in both oral and written forms with administrators, staff, students, parents, and the community at large.
- Cooperative, productive, flexible, and organized, despite frequent interruptions.
- Proper English usage, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, and punctuation.
- Basic computer skills, including word-processing, spreadsheet, data-base software, and desktop publishing.
- Able to prioritize workload so as to meet established timelines.
- Work effectively with little or no supervision.
- Able to handle routine problem-solving maintenance and repairs to theater and the equipment, sound, and lighting system.
- Meet physical / mental requirements associated with tasks outlined in this position description.
- Ability to work both weekdays and weekends, as well as uncommon hours, as required by various scheduled programs.
