Today, over 18,000 patients-residents and visitors alike-see our health care teams for both outpatient and inpatient services.SUMMARY : Senior Paramedic Shift Supervisor is responsible for successfully supervising and collaborating with the Paramedic Supervisor Staff. Responsible for assisting with the development and modifications of operations with the EMS Director for the betterment of the EMS service to the Estes Valley Community. Accountable for demonstrating a commitment to the values of EPH through active participation in Service Excellence and Continuous Quality Improvement / Education programs.ESSENTIAL DUTIES :

• The Lead Paramedic Supervisor for Emergency Medical Services will render full-time, professional services to Estes Park Health (EPH) in the arena of Emergency Medical Services for the hospital, including all related facilities, clinics, and services. This Lead Paramedic Supervisor will faithfully, industriously and to the best of his / her ability, perform all duties that may be required by virtue of the position and all duties set forth in EPH's governing laws, regulations, contracts, bylaws, and in policy statements of the Board of Directors, to implement the strategic goals and objectives of EPH. The Lead Paramedic Supervisor will be committed to providing inspiring and effective guidance while coordinating with the Paramedic Supervisor staff. The Lead Shift Supervisor will operationally adhere to EPH EMS practice management / clinic services toward the fulfillment of EPH's values, mission, strategy, and the achievement of its annual goals and objectives.
• Perform all normal shift duties required of Paramedic Shift Supervisor AND
• Responsible for organizing and collaboration, at the direction of the Director of EMS, with the Paramedic Supervisor Staff to deliver emergency services throughout the Park Hospital District and surrounding Emergency Agency Communities.
• Provides input on organizational staffing and delivery approaches involving EMS staff and Paramedic Supervisors.
• Builds strong positive communications among the staff, physicians, and neighboring emergency medical, fire, and law enforcement agencies.
• Collaborates with EMS Director and Shift Supervisor staff implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and systems for all EMS operational areas.
• Works with the Director of EMS in implementing short and long-range strategic and operational plans in collaboration with Shift Supervisor staff.
• Coordinates EMS daily operations and training activities / staff with Paramedic Shift supervisors.
• Collaborates as EMS QA / QC coordinator with EPH Quality / Patient safety department, monitoring process improvement and standard work congruent with the overall quality management plan as directed by the EMS Director
• Works closely and effectively with the Medical Staff to provide safe, high quality, and effective patient-centered Emergency Medical Services working closely with Medical Director and Director of EMS updating and introducing EMS provider guidelines.
• Coordinates with Director of EMS to ensure, safety, quality management, and service excellence is provided in collaboration with Paramedic Supervisor Staff. Participates in EPH committees associated with safety and quality and others as assigned by EMS Director.
• Maintains the strictest confidentiality.
• Responsible for assuring customer / patient service needs are met. Monitors patient service feedback and contributes to the process of resolving complaints and service issues in collaboration with EMS Director and Shift Supervisor staff.
• Participates in appropriate community activities and professional organizations as necessary to promote the service of the department and image of the Estes Park Health.
• Performs other duties as assigned.POSITION REQUIREMENTS :
• Must possess a strong knowledge of Emergency Medical Service shift supervision as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelor's degree in business, health administration, other related field, and / or EMS Shift Leadership roles.
• A minimum of five (5) years directly related Emergency Medical Services experience.
• Excellent writing skills, with a high level of attention to detail required.
• Ability to demonstrate leadership, managerial ability, good interpersonal relationships, and the application of sound administrative principles.
• Colorado State Paramedic required upon employment. NR EMT-P required within 6 months of hire date. BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS, S.T.A.B.L.E. and FP-C / CCP.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Direct Emergency Medical Services supervisory or management experience is preferred.
