Description
The Scanning Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring accurate pricing and inventory management within the supermarket. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The scanning coordinator is responsible for overseeing the pricing accuracy of merchandise, resolving pricing discrepancies, maintaining inventory integrity, and supporting customer service initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all merchandise is accurately priced and labeled according to company standards.
- Conduct regular audits to verify the accuracy of pricing across various departments, including grocery, produce, deli, and non-food items.
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts and ensure sufficient merchandise availability.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns regarding pricing discrepancies courteously and efficiently.
- Train and educate store associates on pricing procedures and policies to maintain consistency and accuracy.
- Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that merchandise meets quality standards and is appropriately priced.
- Provide excellent customer service to clients and customers
- Create and implement planograms to optimize product placement and maximize sales
- Analyze sales data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement
- Assist with retail sales, including assisting customers with product selection and completing transactions
- Provide support to other departments as necessary during peak periods or special projects.
- Utilize basic math skills to calculate sales totals, discounts, and change accurately
- Manage time effectively to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Qualifications
The minimum required qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Previous experience in customer service or retail, particularly in a scanning or pricing role, is advantageous.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret sales data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and bending.
- Effective time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
