POSITION SUMMARY: The Executive Director is responsible for implementing the mission of The Estuary throughout all levels of the organization, overseeing general operations and for ensuring that all services are operating in compliance with various State and Federal requirements and in a fiscally responsible manner. The Executive Director is responsible for managing and maintaining funding, staffing and resources needed to provide efficient, cost effective, outcome-oriented services, programs, and advocacy for individuals age 50 .
The position requires prior experience in administration in a not-for-profit social services environment. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
- Characteristics, needs and special problems of the age 50 population;
- Title IIIC Nutrition Program, Transportation Systems, Supportive Services, Preventative Health, and Senior Center Programming design, implementation and evaluation;
- Federal and State Department of Labor Regulations, Human Resource Management; Personnel Policy and Procedures; Federal and State Drug/Alcohol Regulations; Community Resources.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree with 5 or more years of experience in a not-for-profit social services organization. Master’s degree is preferred. Other combinations of education and experience will be considered. Key competencies include: Leadership, Communication, Fundraising, Financial Management, Strategic Planning, Relationship Building and Regulatory Compliance.
Ideal candidates will have experience with the evolving needs and specific challenges for the age 50 population as it pertains to transportation, support services, health and wellness and programming. The Executive Director must exhibit high standards of ethics, honesty, integrity, respect, and professionalism, as well as exercise good judgment in organization management; respond well in a crisis, accept and promote change and seek training and educational opportunities. Must demonstrate the ability to successfully multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
