Job Summary:
The Electrical Self-Perform Superintendent oversees and directs self-perform electrical work on construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. This role involves managing crews, coordinating schedules, and working closely with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to deliver successful electrical installations.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership & Supervision:
- Lead and supervise electrical self-perform crews on construction sites.
- Coordinate daily work activities to meet project schedules and milestones.
- Ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Monitor work progress, identify issues, and implement corrective actions.
Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce all company and OSHA safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and job site inspections.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with NEC codes, local regulations, and industry standards.
Work Coordination & Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain short-term work plans to align with project schedules.
- Coordinate with project managers, sub contractors, and other trades.
- Manage workforce assignments and adjust labor needs as required.
Quality Control & Technical Oversight:
- Inspect installations to ensure high-quality workmanship.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting for complex electrical systems.
- Work with engineers and designers to resolve field conflicts.
Material & Equipment Management:
- Order and track materials to avoid project delays.
- Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and available as needed.
- Control costs by minimizing waste and optimizing material usage.
Communication & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, progress reports, and job site conditions.
- Communicate effectively with project teams, clients, and stakeholders.
- Participate in meetings to discuss project status, risks, and resolutions.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in electrical construction, with at least 7 years in a supervisory role.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Experience managing self-perform crews on commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of blueprints, electrical schematics, and project specifications.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Procore, Blue Beam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid OSHA 30 certification (preferred).
- Journeyman or Master Electrician License (a plus).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in various environments (indoor/outdoor, heights, confined spaces).
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods, and performing physically demanding tasks.
