Overview:
The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) supports the therapeutic environment by providing direct care and supervision to patients in both the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). The BHT ensures safety, supports treatment plans, and facilitates daily patient activities while maintaining transportation responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care and Supervision:
- Monitor and supervise patients in daily activities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans by providing appropriate support and interventions.
- Observe and document patient behaviors, incidents, and progress accurately.
Transportation Duties:
- Transport patients to and from the facility and other designated locations, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, ensuring safe and reliable transportation.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs promptly.
Facility Support:
- Assist with the facilitation of group therapies, recreational activities, and educational sessions as directed by clinical staff.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure continuity of care and effective communication.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment, including assisting with facility upkeep.
Compliance and Safety:
- Follow all facility policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies, utilizing de-escalation techniques when necessary.
- Participate in training and development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:

Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in behavioral health or a related field preferred.

Experience:
- Experience in behavioral health or substance abuse treatment preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid preferred.
