Position Overview: The Company is seeking a passionate and experienced professional to join their team as a Chemical Engineer in the field of Research and Development. The ideal candidate will possess a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, along with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in product and process development. An advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) is highly desirable. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge technologies in the development of advanced acoustic mixing technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and development of the company’s advanced acoustic mixing technology and related equipment.
- Evaluate complex issues such as mixing, mass transport, heat transfer, scaling, process control, and process optimization across various industrial applications.
- Conduct R&D for batch, continuous-batch, and continuous mixing processes, including solid-solid, liquid-solid, and liquid-liquid systems.
- Develop and design chemical processes and equipment from bench scale to production scale, particularly in the context of mixing and other processing methods.
- Work across a broad range of industrial applications, including energetics, pharmaceuticals, batteries/energy storage, and other modern industrial processes.
- Take ownership of assigned projects, including project initiation, technical investigations, protocol preparation, and project completion.
- Apply advanced chemical engineering theories, methods, and techniques to solve complex engineering problems in product development and commercialization.
- Prepare reaction protocols, research reports, grant proposals, and deliver presentations to internal teams, customers, investors, government organizations, and collaborators.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (Advanced degrees such as M.S. or Ph.D. are a plus).
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience in chemical engineering research and development.
- Demonstrated expertise in chemical process design, equipment development, and experience in a product/process development environment.
- Hands-on knowledge of mixing fundamentals and process design for conventional and advanced mixing processes.
- Strong interest in R&D for new product commercialization and a passion for innovative problem-solving in a technically challenging environment.
- Proven ability to work with a wide range of industrial applications and processes.
- Familiarity with the development of solid-solid, liquid-solid, and liquid-liquid mixing systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write clear reports, proposals, and present to diverse audiences.
- A strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Ability to travel internationally as needed.
