The Client Tax Operations Department is responsible for ensuring that all withholding and reporting obligations of the Firm are met. The Client Tax Associate position is required to perform numerous data reviews, tax forms, interacting with internal and external clients and vendors.
Job Purpose :
The principal accountabilities of this position is to support all aspects of tax filings in our global markets for our Stock Plan / Retirements business under Shareworks
Concentrating on the US markets initially. Currently our global markets include Canada, United States, Australia, United Kingdom, and New Zealand.
The incumbent has the necessary skills to complete tasks on our proprietary software, Shareworks, excel and third party tax programs, and has the necessary knowledge to conduct research for the different jurisdictions and any new countries that Shareworks moves into.
Primary Responsibilities for the role :
Review and ensure 1099 / 1042-S Reporting is accurateUpdate excel files for accurate reporting valuesEnsure participant data is accurateAttain appropriate approvals, document and confirm successful submissions per jurisdictionEnsure that all tax filings and reporting for Corporate Clients and Shareworks , are issued accurately and timelyReview IRS filings and State filings are accurateContribute to the annual tax production project plan to ensure that all relevant tasks are captured throughout the yearPerform all required testing on tax forms that are issued from Shareworks to ensure accuracy through preliminary reviewsManage any special handling requirements for clients inclusive of tax form amendments for clientsAudit tax form generation to ensure all forms for all clients have been completedProactively provide project updates to Tax Manager as required to ensure the success of tax activitiesUpdate processes and procedures policy portal as requiredKey Skills / Qualifications :
