Pay Range: $(58.00 – 61.00)/hr on W2
Hybrid Schedule: 2 days onsite and 3 days remote
Job Description:
The Category Manager for External Manufacturing/Contract Manufacturing Procurement is responsible for:
- Driving the development of category practices for selected sub-categories, including sourcing strategy deployment, and stakeholder management, to maximize total cost of ownership savings and Procurement’s value contribution while achieving compliance with policies, strategies, and processes
- Developing robust category strategies with long term savings pipeline, aligned with regions and ke y stakeholders in EM Make, Planning, Network teams Quality etc
- Striving to meet the mutually agreed Procurement targets contributing to the overall budgeting targets
- In addition to the elements mentioned above the Category Manager is accountable to define and achieve clear targets in conjunction with his/her Procurement counterparts and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Defines Category Strategy for GLOBAL category
- Analyzes category and defines category profile, incl. risk assessment, supply base assessment and SRM strategy
- Benchmarks category practices to identify improvement initiatives
- Builds category specific strategic plan in alignment with the regions / countries and aligns strategic plan to financial budget and global business strategies in alignment with global Category Manager and business stakeholders
- Initiates internal and external analysis (industry and supplier)
- Consolidates requirements, acting as a business partner for business / other functions, supporting the alignment and optimization of specification with the business / other functions
- Is accountable for developing long term savings pipeline, do critical/strategic RFPs and negotiations for their categories.
- Manages innovation pipeline/NPD pipeline of all key EM projects and is responsible for scouting for new EMs and developing EM capability library and has very close relationships with R&D, and cross functional brand development teams.
Maintains and manages relationship with suppliers identified as key suppliers in the selected category and region, monitors performance of key strategic suppliers according to the guidelines
- Leads suppliers selection with Do it Right, First time mind set – negotiates key parameters linked to supply chain agility, service, cost and cash to make right end to end decision to select right supplier.
- Leads supplier development activities; sets up cross-functional review meetings with key strategic suppliers in order to improve performance and further cost / demand reductions
- Supports the identification of potential contract improvement opportunities and re-negotiations
- Is accountable for supplier scouting, selection and development
- Manages relationship with key stakeholders and business representatives
- Acts as escalation point for category related issues and drives resolution in line with global Procurement policies
- Achieves “buy-in” from key stakeholders for major procurement initiatives
- Maintains close relationships with Network team, R&D, Regional Make teams (where needed)etc.
- Collaborates and aligns with global / regional / local procurement teams as applicable
- Is a business partner to the regional procurement teams to create and outline contribution for budget improvements
- Supports resource allocation between global and regional / local category initiatives
What we are looking for:
Required Qualifications:
- Academic background: Appropriate University/bachelor degree qualification is essential.
- A recognized qualification in procurement would be considered an asset.
Experience:
- Atleast 3-4 years of Procurement experience is required.
- Experience with External manufacturing/contract manufacturing procurement and OTC/Regulated products/categories will be considered an asset.
- Should have experience with supplier negotiations, RFPs, category strategy, should cost/cost benchmarking and need strong excel skills.
- Language skills: Proficiency in English essential
