Unit Details
- Number of Beds: 101
- Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1 for medical; up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds
- Staff Support: Techs (cardiac monitoring, internal processing), triage nurses, unit clerks (day and night)
- Floating Policy: No floating outside the ER, but must be flexible to float within ER sections
- Documentation System: Cerner
- Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
- Scrub Color: Navy
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- TNCC
- CPI
- NIHSS
- ENPC (within 90 days of start)
- Minimum 2 years total RN experience
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience
- Experience in high-volume ED settings (100,000 visits annually)
- Strong teamwork and coaching skills
- Flexibility to work across all ED zones
- Experience in Level 2 trauma and comprehensive stroke centers
- Previous experience in healthcare systems with similar acuity
- Multi-cultural patient population experience
- Adaptable and coachable
- Excellent communication and bedside manner (AIDET practices)
