- Must sit hybrid in the Newport Beach, CA location (2 days a week onsite) - Candidates currently local to Southern California will be giving priority Looking for strong infrastructure support background (ie Windows, linux, storage, server administration, patching, scripting) with level 1 security knowledge Cloud security background a plus (but not a must, group is mostly on-prem)

& Provide subject matter specific consultation on security best practices for various topics pertaining to securing and hardening IT infrastructure.
& Design and implement security controls for servers and related IT infrastructure systems such as hypervisors, storage systems, backup systems, and mainframe.
& Collaborate with others to identify and manage security risks.
& Assist with hands-on technical validation of security controls.
& Help to plan security related projects and deliverables.
& Manage security tools to ensure best practices are being followed.
& Assist teams with vulnerability management processes.
Qualifications:
& Experience:
o& & & At least two years of experience working in a professional IT or IT Security position.
o& & & Experience responding to or analyzing cyberattacks in an incident response capacity, or experience performing simulated cyberattacks in a penetration testing capacity.
o& & & Experience writing and reviewing technical build documentation, policy documents, and procedure documents.
& Conceptual and/or practical understanding of the following:
o& & & Cyberattack techniques, detections, and preventions.
o& & & Windows / Linux operating systems.
o& & & Virtualization and hypervisors.
o& & & Computer Networks and Common Network Protocols.
o& & & Active Directory.
o& & & Backup and recovery systems.
o& & & Mainframe systems.
& Soft Skills:
o& & & Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
o& & & Self-starter. Must be able to identify, plan, and track milestones to achieve goals with minimal direction or supervision.
o& & & Ability to prioritize and keep track of projects in a fast-paced environment
o& & & Good communication skills
& Education, and certifications:
o& & & BS degree in Computer Science or a related field
o& & & Active relevant security certification from a reputable organization such as ISC2, SANS GIAC, or equivalent.
