Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, customer-focused and highly motivated server to join our team. bar Vetti is an upscale Italian restaurant in an energetic neighborhood with a curated wine program and a focus on housemade Italian fare utilizing regional flavors. As a server, you will be responsible for delivering impeccable service to our guests while creating an unforgettable dining experience. Your expertise in both food and wine, along with a keen understanding of our menu, will ensure each guest enjoys the perfect meal.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Service Excellence:
  Maintain a hospitable, friendly, and professional attitude at all times. You will provide attentive and personalized service, anticipating guests' needs and delivering an outstanding dining experience.

• Food & Drink Knowledge:
  Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the menu, including all dishes, ingredients, and preparation methods. Provide recommendations and answer questions regarding ingredients, substitutions, and dietary restrictions.
• Wine Knowledge & Pairing:
  Attend wine trainings and familiarize yourself with our curated wine list and provide expert recommendations for wine pairings that enhance the flavors of our Italian dishes. Engage with guests to discuss wines, regions, and tasting notes, ensuring an elevated experience.
• POS System Proficiency:
  Become proficient in using the Toast POS system to enter orders, manage payments, and communicate with the kitchen and bar staff seamlessly.
• Collaboration with BOH & FOH Teams:
  Work effectively with both back-of-house (BOH) and front-of-house (FOH) teams, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of food and beverages. Communicate any order modifications or issues clearly and efficiently.
• Guest Issue Resolution:
  Handle guest concerns or complaints with professionalism and empathy, ensuring prompt and satisfactory resolutions, including full or partial refunds when necessary.
• Restaurant Cleanliness & Maintenance:
  Maintain cleanliness in the dining and service areas, ensuring all tables, chairs, and common areas are tidy and inviting. Regularly check and clean restrooms and ensure supplies are stocked.
• Food Safety & Sanitation:
  Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices, including proper hand washing, FIFO (first in, first out), and cleaning protocols. Adhere to health department standards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Stocking & Organization:
  Ensure that all workstations, coolers, and storage areas are stocked, organized, and properly cleaned throughout the shift. Assist with stocking supplies for future shifts to ensure smooth operations.
• Health & Safety Certification:
  Obtain and maintain necessary certifications, including Health Department certification and STAR certification, to comply with food safety and alcohol service regulations.
• Team Support:
  Collaborate with fellow servers and the management team to ensure shifts run smoothly and efficiently. Complete opening, mid-shift, and closing duties according to established standards and guidelines.

• Uphold Company Culture & Standards:
  Embody the restaurant's core values, culture, and policies regarding quality, cleanliness, communication, and hospitality. Consistently deliver service that exceeds guest expectations.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a fine dining or upscale restaurant setting.

• Knowledge of Italian cuisine and wines, with an ability to discuss and recommend wine pairings to guests is a plus.
• Exceptional customer service skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Ability to multitask effectively and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with a focus on respectful and clear interactions with both guests and colleagues.

• Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods.
