Job Title: Senior Systems Administrator
Location: Montgomery, AL 36130
4 months of contract
Summary:
The State of Alabama Medicaid Agency is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator with strong expertise in Microsoft Azure Cloud, Active Directory, and related enterprise infrastructure services. The role involves designing, deploying, configuring, and maintaining both cloud and on-premise systems to ensure secure, efficient, and scalable operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and support Azure-based infrastructure and services.
- Administer Azure AD/Entra ID and perform identity synchronization via Entra ID Connect.
- Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot Windows Servers and Active Directory.
- Manage and maintain Group Policies and system standards.
- Utilize PowerShell or other scripting tools for automation and task orchestration.
- Ensure system availability, perform backup verifications, and conduct failure recovery.
- Implement and manage authentication protocols including SSO, SAML/OIDC, NTLM, Kerberos, OAuth.
- Analyze system and application logs, address performance issues, and provide recommendations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve system and infrastructure issues.
- Perform upgrades and patching of hardware and system software.
- Maintain compliance with organizational policies and standards.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years experience in:
- Azure/Entra ID & app management
- Identity synchronization using Entra ID Connect
- PowerShell scripting or similar automation tools
- Group Policy administration in Windows Server
- Authentication protocols (SSO, SAML/OIDC, NTLM, Kerberos, OAuth)
- Windows Server and Active Directory administration
- Azure resource/user/services management and optimization
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Linux server administration (Ubuntu or RedHat preferred)
Education & Certifications:
- Required: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Required Certification: Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-103 or AZ-104)
