What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Special Education Teacher (Immediate Opening) position at Ethos Classical?
THE ROLE
The Elementary Special Education Teacher leads supports for Special Education students to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth. The Special Education Teacher will provide critical guidance to Lead Teachers to ensure that all staff are complying with and meeting the needs of Special Education students. This position supports scholars in grade 2 with reading and math and grade 3 with reading.
THE PERSON
As a Lead Special Education Elementary Teacher, you will:
- Review weekly lesson plans and provide modifications, as necessary
- Teach small groups in guided reading & math, using a research-based curriculum
- Implement and adjust behavior interventions for scholars
- Implement school-wide systems for academics and behavior
- Implement processes to monitor progress of exceptional students
- Compile data for meetings, updates, and annual reports
- Support teachers to implement interventions
- Meet with families to review progress on learning goals
THE MUST HAVES
Prior Experience
- A certification in Special Education (required)
- Experience managing a Special Education caseload.
- The ability to teach core subjects (Math and Reading) to elementary scholars.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required.
