What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Teacher: Kindergarten (SY25-26) position at Ethos Classical?
THE ROLE
As the Lead Kindergarten Teacher, you will create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment that fosters early literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skills. You will play a foundational role in supporting our young scholars’ first steps in formal education, helping them develop a love for learning and a strong sense of belonging. Teaching an average class size of 26 scholars is both a privilege and a commitment, requiring dedication, creativity, and a growth mindset.
THE PERSON
As a Lead Kindergarten Teacher, you will:
- Design and deliver age-appropriate, engaging instruction that lays the groundwork for literacy, math, and social-emotional development.
- Tailor lessons to meet the diverse learning needs of all scholars, providing individualized support where necessary.
- Assess scholar progress regularly, offering feedback to families and maintaining transparent communication about each scholar's development.
- Collaborate with fellow educators and support staff to maintain a cohesive, supportive learning environment.
- Build a classroom culture that promotes inclusivity, respect, and joy for learning, setting a positive tone for scholars’ educational journeys.
- Use interactive and hands-on learning materials, creative activities, and play-based approaches to foster scholar engagement.
- Communicate openly and effectively with scholars, families, and colleagues to ensure a consistent approach to each scholar's growth and well-being.
THE MUST HAVES
Prior Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Valid teaching certification in Early Childhood Education or a related area.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching kindergarten or early elementary scholars, with a strong record of supporting social-emotional and academic growth.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and the ability to present concepts in engaging, age-appropriate ways.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
Work Demands
- Schedule: 7:15 am - 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
