Northeast Indiana Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital in historic Fort Wayne, IN, is hiring a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician to join our outstanding Emergency team on 3rd shift.

Compensation
Our facility offers services in cardiology, internal medicine, surgery, and emergency and critical care. We have a team of board-certified specialists and emergency doctors committed to providing quality care to all patients. In 2015, NIVES became the only veterinary hospital in the state of Indiana to be certified as a Level II Critical Care Facility. This certification deems our hospital qualified to care for and treat even the most life-threatening cases. Our advanced diagnostic capabilities allow our doctors to diagnose and treat complicated medical conditions. These diagnostics include digital radiography, ultrasonography, electrocardiography, and computed tomography (CT).

Position Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with examinations and diagnostic procedures.
- Administer medications, treatments, and monitor all aspects of anesthesia under the guidance of a veterinarian, including ECG, SpO2, EtCO2, and NIBP.
- Provide pre- and post-surgical care for patients.
- Handle and process laboratory samples for submission to local and offsite labs.
- Accurately obtain and relay detailed patient histories.
- Document records, treatment and diagnostics into EzyVet.
- Maintain accurate and detailed communication logs, handle department voicemail, client callbacks and documentation.
- Educate and communicate with clients regarding their pet's condition, treatment plans, review of estimates, and follow-up care.
- Currently licensed as a veterinary technician in Indiana, or able to transfer an out of state technician license
- Minimum of 2 years working as a veterinary technician, preferably in a busy Emergency Department.
- Strong technical skills
- Attention to detail, with strong communication skills with both clients and team members
- Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus.
