What You’ll Do
As a Veterinary Hospital Service Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital, focusing on the optimal client and employee experience. Your responsibilities will include:
Employee Life-Cycle Management
- Mentorship & Development: Act as a mentor and coach, guiding staff through non-clinical matters and fostering professional growth.
- Team Leadership: Develop and supervise staff across various departments, ensuring they are well-trained and motivated.
- Performance Management: Set performance standards, monitor progress, and implement promotions, awards, or corrective actions as necessary.
- Conflict Resolution: Handle conflicts with compassion and professionalism, maintaining a positive and supportive work environment.
- Workflow Optimization: Assess and streamline administrative and operational workflows to enhance efficiency.
- Resource Allocation: Manage staffing schedules and labor budgets, ensuring departments are well-equipped to meet demands.
- Financial Oversight: Take charge of the financial performance of your departments, contributing to the hospital’s overall success.
- Meeting Facilitation: Conduct regular staff meetings to keep everyone informed and engaged.
- Client Flow Management: Ensure the smooth and effective flow of clients and pets through the hospital, from arrival to discharge.
- Crisis Management: Provide reassurance and support to clients during emotional and stressful situations.
- Business Development: Maintain strong relationships with referring veterinarians and follow up on client visits to foster trust and loyalty.
- Education & Experience: A Bachelor’s degree and/or significant leadership experience. Previous veterinary industry experience is not required, but a comfort level in a clinical setting is essential.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and develop employees.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: A proactive problem solver who can navigate challenges with confidence and poise.
- Positive Leadership: A leader who can cultivate a positive work environment that enhances the client experience.
- Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role.
