About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Surgery Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team at Ethos Veterinary Health. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures and providing exceptional patient care.
Job Description:
- Conduct pre-surgical examinations and obtain medical histories
- Administer pre-anesthetic medications and monitor patient responses
- Insert and manage IV catheters for fluid therapy and medication administration
- Sterilize and set up surgical instruments and equipment
- Assist in tissue handling, retraction, and other tasks as directed
- Record all data accurately for the medical record
- Adjust anesthesia levels and administer additional medications as needed
- Provide postoperative care, including pain management and wound care
- Evaluate patient status and adjust anesthetic plans as necessary
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) or American Association of Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) certification preferred
- At least two years of experience in veterinary surgery or related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's degree in veterinary technology or related field
- Certification in anesthesia administration
