RN IDD Supervisor

In this position you will supervise our LPN / LVN's providing care for our residents living in a Group Home Setting.
The ideal candidate will have some supervisory experience, good assessment skills.
Experience working with Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities is a plus but we will train you on working with the IDD population.
Candidates should be capable of providing oversight and training of direct care staff in the monitoring of the medical systems.
Additionally, the nurse will participate in team meetings and provide medically related in-services to program staff.
Position Responsibilities:
- Support medically frail people with disabilities
- Provide ongoing clinical supervision in collaboration with administrated supervisor to all nurses within the region.
- Organize and provide clinical training in meetings.
- Serve as a resource to the department members and agency staff by providing information as needed.
- Select, orient, train, counsel, discipline and direct all nursing staff in collaboration with supervisors in the region.
- To provide direct assistance in providing clinical coverage as requested by the Nursing coordinator, in any other aspect of the operation of the Nursing Department.
- Take leadership role in setting up new nurses' orientation schedules, training and supervision.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurses license as issued by the State Board of Nursing and be in good standing with the State of Tennessee.
- Prefer experience in supervision of other nurses.
- Experience with intellectually and developmentally disabled population, preferred but not required.
- Med/Surg experience
- Nursing homes, rehabs, or chronic care experience
