RN Quality Assurance, Home Infusion
The RN Quality Assurance Specialist, Home Infusion ensures the highest standards of patient care, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency within the IVIG infusion therapy services.
This role focuses on monitoring, evaluating, and improving clinical processes.
Position Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Oversee and maintain compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, ACHC, URAC).
- Ensure adherence to best practices for IVIg administration and patient safety.
- Conduct regular audits of patient charts, medication administration records, and nursing documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Patient Safety & Risk Management:
- Identify and address any safety concerns related to IVIg infusion therapy.
- Investigate adverse events, medication errors, and patient complaints, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Develop and implement policies to enhance infection control and aseptic techniques.
- Education & Training:
- Provide training and continuing education for nurses on IVIg protocols, infusion therapy best practices, and patient care documentation.
- Develop educational materials and resources for both clinical staff and patients.
- Process Improvement:
- Monitor and analyze clinical performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Review and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for infusion therapy.
- Clinical Support & Collaboration:
- Serve as a resource for infusion nurses regarding clinical guidelines and protocols.
- Work closely with pharmacy, operations, and compliance teams to ensure seamless and safe delivery of IVIg therapy.
- Participate in accreditation surveys and inspections.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with an active and unrestricted license
- Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience, preferably in infusion therapy, home health, or specialty pharmacy. Prior experience in quality assurance, compliance, or risk management is a plus.
- IV Therapy Certification preferred; CPR/BLS required.
- Strong understanding of IVIg infusion protocols and adverse reaction management.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and documentation review.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to train and educate clinical staff effectively.
