What are the responsibilities and job description for the Solar Technician position at EthosEnergy Group?
We are seeking a Solar Technician to join our team in the Quincy, Ohio area. The Solar Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the site. This is accomplished by performing various inspections including equipment, facility, safety, and environmental, and by performing or ensuring that all manufacturers recommended preventative maintenance is performed. Troubleshooting and effecting repairs on equipment issues is performed on an as needed basis. Major areas of accountability in this function include safety compliance, scheduling and troubleshooting repairs on site equipment. Successful candidates must have knowledge and understanding of environmental regulations related to solar operations with knowledge of NERC.
Job Responsibilities
- Champion the company’s safety policy by adhering to it and supporting other companies by sharing it and its values
- Perform a pre job brief and associated forms prior to tasks
- Troubleshoot and perform repairs on site equipment
- In conjunction with the Solar Manager Plan and schedule corrective and preventative maintenance
- In conjunction with the Solar Manager Plan and schedule major equipment maintenance activities to minimize downtime impact on revenue
- Record all work perform within the provided CMSS system
- Aid in the development of the yearly budget
- Interface with other departments to provide information and support as required
- Interface with external agencies as required
- Interface with landowner as needed
- Initiate internally and assist with all insurance claims made by the company
- Execute all monitoring requirements at the facility
- Manage waste disposal within applicable laws
- Accountable for adherence to corporate policies and procedures
- Provide remote weekend monitoring of self-operated sites on a rotating basis
- Support the Daily, Monthly, Bi-Annual and Annual NERC requirements.
- Aid in corporate Monthly reporting requirements such as availability and production reporting.
Required Skills / Knowledge
- Knowledge and understanding of environmental regulations related to solar operations
- Knowledge of NERC requirements a plus
- Knowledge and understanding of solar generating equipment construction and operation
- Strong understanding of solar facility operations
- Ability to make quick decisions and use good judgment
- Proficient with the use of Word, Excel and Outlook software programs
- Knowledge and understanding of corporate and industry safety standards and practices
Experience
- Two to four years related experience and/or training; or a combination of experience and/or education preferred.
Education Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college to technical school preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to do walking, reaching, climbing, and lifting (up to 50 pounds).
- Must be willing to work a 12-hour rotating shift and be available to work for call-ins and work overload as needed.
