We are recruiting an Operations and Maintenance Coordinator on a fulltime basis for Ironwood Generating Station (IGS), which is a 720MW (net), 2x1 Siemens Energy 501G Combined Cycle facility located in Lebanon County, PA. This critical role is an exempt, Management staff position reporting to the Operations Manager directly. Key responsibilities of the coordinator role include daily direction of facility operations and operational activities, to oversee plant performance, act as a shift supervisor, and ensure that the plant meets its generating requirements, while operating in a safe and efficient manner. The O&M Coordinator must adhere to all safety, environmental, NERC compliance, and facility rules and regulations.
Qualifications include 3-5 years CRO or supervisory experience. Successful candidates will have an understanding of combustion turbines, steam turbines, generators, HRSGs, boilers, pumps, instrumentation, water chemistry, basic electricity and power plant theory. An understanding of Zero Liquid Discharge plant operations is a PLUS!! Important to note, that this role does require domestic travel and occasional overtime as required for plant operations.

Job Responsibilities
- Manage the operation of a 720 MW 2X1 Combine cycle facility and BOP, including a Zero Liquid Discharge plant.
- Strict adherence to all safety, environmental, NERC compliance, and Ethos Energy rules and regulations to protect employees, the public, and the facility equipment.
- Oversees the Facility’s Lockout-Tagout “LOTO” program.
- Oversees the Operations Department daily activities.
- Directs and issues assignments to the Facility Staff as needed.
- Communicates effectively and accurately, using both verbal and written methods of communication.
- Keeps the Plant Staff fully informed of unusual facility conditions.
- Develops and updates the Plant’s operational procedures, and qualification program.
- Oversees the departmental Work Order program, utilizing the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including the Facility’s Predictive and Preventive Maintenance Programs.
- Plays an active role in Outage planning, preparation, scheduling, and execution, particularly for Operations Departments tasks and responsibilities.
- Train and qualify operations department employees to the level of CRO.
- Reviews journals, logbooks, shift turnovers, inspection of watch (IOW) surveillance round sheets, and various other reports, to identify trends and potential issues.
- Maintains the Operational Rotating Shift Schedule, including reviewing time off requests and the assignment of overtime coverage.
- Prepares daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly operating reports.
- Performs operational tests.
- Adept at troubleshooting and diagnosing problems with mechanical and electrical equipment, with the ability to apply a resolution in a timely fashion.
- Identifies and resolves Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) problems. Assists in calibrations and gas cylinder replacements. Takes actions necessary to prevent environmental excursions.
- Proficient with water chemistry for the facility’s HRSG, packaged boilers, cooling tower and demineralized water treatment plant. Takes necessary action to operate and maintain the systems within prescribed limits.
- Assumes the responsibility of the CRO (Control Room Operator) as required, if needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required by the Operations Manager and/or the Facility Manager.
- Demonstrated knowledge of all facets of power plant operations and maintenance, particularly combined cycle power plants (industrial Combustion turbines, Steam turbines, heat recovery steam generators [HRSG], BOP equipment.
- Ability to assume responsibility for the operation of the plant. This may include working shift to cover for operations personnel.
- Capable of writing operating procedures, routine reports, work orders, and purchase requisitions.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical one-lines, logic drawings, technical manuals, and P&IDs.
- Prior experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite of products (Outlook, Share point, Word, and Excel).
- Knowledge of combustion turbine operating systems and balance of plant DCS is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to make competent decisions in emergency situations.
- Demonstrated good verbal and written communication skills.
- Will solve practical problems, clearly communicate tasks and needs, and training of other personnel.
- Must be able to work independently and under a variety of working conditions.
- Three to five years CRO or supervisory experience.
- A good understanding of combustion turbines, steam turbines, generators, HRSGs, boilers, pumps, instrumentation, water chemistry, basic electricity and power plant theory is required.
- Understanding of Zero liquid Discharge plant operations a plus
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent, from a two-year college or technical school preferred
- Ability to do walking, reaching, climbing, and stooping and lifting (up to 50 pounds).
- This position may require extended working hours and varied shifts including weekend and holiday work to support plant operation on occasion.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
