We are recruiting a Power Plant IC&E Technician to join our team at Ironwood Generating Station, a 720MW (net), 2x1 Energia Siemensa 501G Combined Cycle facility in Lebanon County, PA. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Instrumentation, Controls & Electrical Technician will be responsible for installation, troubleshooting and repair of plant instrumentation, controls, computers, and electrical systems. This equipment includes but is not limited to the Combustion and Steam Turbine Generators, auxiliary equipment and Balance of Plant. Strict adherence to all safety and environmental rules and regulations to protect employees and public safety is required. Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 3 years working experience in process instrumentation and electrical trades, preferably within power plant environments. Must also have experience working with distributed control systems including strong trouble shooting skills and abilities - Energia Siemensa T3000 a plus.

- Ensure work is completed in a safe, timely and environmentally compliant manner to minimize downtime and maximize availability.
- Responsible for staying abreast of all the tools and technology in the marketplace.

- Install, troubleshoot, repair and perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, instrumentation and analytical equipment, following electrical code, manuals, procedures, schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications.
- Inspect instrumentation periodically and perform calibrations to ensure accuracy.
- Locate defective components using test equipment such as pressure gauges, manometers, potentiometers, signal generators, pulse counters, oscilloscopes, HART communicators, ammeters, voltmeters etc.
- Install power supply and signal wiring/cables, cable tray and conduit for newly installed machines, electrical equipment, instrumentation, distributive control systems, signal interface cabinets and telephone systems.
- Install, troubleshoot and maintain DCS and PLC logic systems.
- Develop and modify PLC code utilizing PC based configuration software.
- Analyze plant operations through the DCS system and, under direction, make configuration and program changes to modify operations and interface new plant equipment.
- Install new electrical equipment as required.
- Perform 480V motor control center, switchgear and high voltage switchyard basic electrical systems maintenance (consistent with EthosEnergy and Industry electrical safety practices) and or supervise outside contractors including development of work scope and bid analysis.
- Perform routine generator electrical system test and inspections and or performs QA/QC on outside contractor work activity.
- Keep shift supervisor fully informed of unusual conditions and current job progress as the job relates to facility operations.
- Use facility operating procedures and equipment technical manuals to maintain and repair facility equipment and ensure equipment is operated within operating range.
- Fully support the use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System by displaying a proficiency in using the system and dedication to the facility maintenance philosophy.
- Perform CMMS data entry and work order close-out in a thorough and timely fashion.
- Open and closes circuit breakers as required for proper system operation and electrical isolation.
- Perform capital project and/or major program responsibilities as assigned by plant management.
- Maintain the cleanliness of all areas of the plant.
- Coordinate IC&E work with contractors as necessary.
- Update drawings and prints as required.
- Support Maintenance Manager in planning and scheduling duties, especially as related to outages.
- Possess excellent diagnostic and repair skills for addressing complex problems in electrical generation and distribution systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Must have strong computer skills to interact with the computerized maintenance management system and other MS Office programs.
- Knowledgeable in mechanical relay and ladder logic, and programming of simple ladder logic programs.
- Strong skills in troubleshooting and correcting DCS to I/O to field device issues
- Must have experience working with and troubleshooting different types of automatic valves and actuators
- Identify, interpret and effectively use drawings and documentation related to electrical and process controls including Electrical One-line diagrams, Elementary diagrams, wiring schematics, control schematics, P&ID’s, Cause and Effect diagrams, Instrument Loop diagrams, Interconnect diagrams, etc.
- Able to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on medium voltage electrical equipment such as switchgear, breakers, etc.
- Strong skills in troubleshooting 120 volt AC controls, 480 V, 2400 V, 13.8KV switchgear; Working knowledge of inspection, maintenance and troubleshooting of distribution and power transformers.
- Must have experience working with high voltage electrical tools such as: megger, hi-pot, high voltage probes, non-contact testers, etc.
- Must have knowledge and experience required to install grounding equipment on transformers and other high voltage electrical equipment.
- Experience with CEMS and DAHS systems operation and maintenance/trouble shooting.
- Must have experience and understanding of NEC, NFPA 70E, NERC, 40CFR Part 60 and Part 75 environmental regulations.
- May be required to operate a fork-lift and similar plant equipment.
- Minimum of 3 years working experience in process instrumentation and electrical trades, preferably in power plant environments.
- Working experience with distributed control systems including strong trouble shooting skills and abilities - Energia Siemensa T3000 a plus.
- Strong familiarity with NETA, NFPA, ASTM, IEEE, standards as they pertain to prudent utility practice.
- Strong familiarity with NFPA Arc Flash requirements for high voltage equipment.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Documented completion of a formal training program in the field of Process Instrumentation, Controls and Electronics (e.g. trade school, company sponsored training, or other 2-year technical training program) or, 3 years of equivalent experience in the IC&E field.
- Active Driver's License Required as role may operate forklift and similiar equipment
- Work and perform duties in all types of weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work overtime hours as required when requested to support business needs.
- Must be able to safely lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Safely operate various types of mobile equipment including, but not limited to, forklift and man lift.
- Must be able to work at elevated heights and safely climb fixed and portable ladders of various sizes.
