The Warehouse Delivery Driver position involves driving trucks and helping with loading and unloading materials to meet customer and company needs. Duties include pulling orders, packaging, assembling, staging, and loading orders accurately for customer pick-up or delivery. You'll work outdoors in all four seasons, so being comfortable in various weather conditions is important. Plus, you won't have to work on Sundays!
- Provide exceptional customer service with a positive and friendly attitude.
- Familiarize yourself with the delivery territory to ensure prompt and efficient deliveries while building strong customer relationships.
- Secure materials to prevent accidents, damage, or loss during transport.
- Follow company standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety regulations.
- Understand the yard layout, bin locations, and the product types stocked.
- Assist customers with yard materials and other inquiries as needed.
- Accurately prepare materials for shipment, including gathering, packaging, staging, and completing shipping paperwork.
- Safely handle materials, operate equipment, and load/unload flatbed trailers.
- Maintain and stock racks, shelves, and assigned equipment (e.g., hi-lo).
- Support receiving duties and general housekeeping in the yard.
- Ensure regular attendance and prioritize safety in all tasks.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) with or without a calculator.
- Familiarity with computers or basic computer skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow simple written and verbal instructions.
- Problem-solving skills for straightforward situations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in the plumbing or waterworks industry is preferred but not required.
- Valid Chauffeur's License with an acceptable driving record.
- Current DOT Medical Certificate (or the ability to obtain one).
- Ability to pass an operator exam to operate powered industrial equipment.
