About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Material Planner and Sourcing Analyst (Buyer III) to join our manufacturing operations. In this role, you’ll be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating the timely procurement of materials to meet production demands. You’ll also play a key role in sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and optimizing inventory levels to support efficient and cost-effective operations.

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

Material Planning & Inventory Control

• Analyze production schedules, sales forecasts, and inventory reports to plan material needs.

• Generate and manage purchase orders based on material requirements.

• Monitor inventory levels and adjust planning parameters to prevent shortages or overstock.

• Resolve material delays and work with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.

Sourcing & Procurement

• Identify and evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery performance.

• Issue RFQs and negotiate pricing, lead times, and service terms.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers for long-term success.

• Track supplier KPIs and initiate performance improvement actions when needed.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to align supply chain with operational needs.

• Support new product launches and engineering changes by aligning sourcing strategies with timelines.

• Communicate supply risks and solutions to internal stakeholders clearly and proactively.

Process Improvement

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize material flow and procurement processes.

• Support ERP/MRP system optimization and data integrity.

• Reduce cost and lead time through alternate sourcing, negotiation, and vendor consolidation.

✅ What We’re Looking For:

• 3 years of experience in material planning, purchasing, or supply chain in a manufacturing environment

• Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Epicor, Oracle, etc.)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools

• Excellent organizational and communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines

🎯 Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field

• APICS CPIM, CPSM, or other relevant supply chain certifications

• Experience with lean manufacturing, Kanban, or JIT systems
