JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Project Manager will be coordinating with and assisting the Project Manager, vendors, subcontractors and ESDG Management to determine the need for manpower, materials, and equipment. The Asst. Project Manager will be the direct liaison with the Government Contracting Official as well as directing the daily activities of subcontractors and vendors to ensure compliance with contract documents, safety rules, and quality/security requirements to maximize production and eliminate disruptions and downtime. Ensures the construction schedule and budget are kept in accordance to plan.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
−Maintains high level of professionalism and carries out a policy of courtesy and superior customer service. Exercises tact, good manners and diplomacy.
− Maintains a thorough understanding of commercial construction industry practices and standards.
−Accomplishes construction project results by defining project purpose and scope; calculating resources required; establishing standards and protocols; allocating resources; scheduling and coordinating staff and sub-contractors; evaluating milestone assumptions and conclusions; resolving design problems; evaluating and implementing change orders.
− Meets construction budget by monitoring project expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions; providing non-project annual operating and capital budget information.
− Supervises the coordination and input as needed with the contractors providing services and infrastructure.
−Meets operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards; resolving problems; identifying construction management system improvements.
−Manages sub-contractors by locating, evaluating, and selecting sub-contractors; monitors, controls performance, and ensures quality workmanship.
− Oversees preparation of daily logs and reports of construction activity for office submittal.
− Supervises change proposals, proposal requests, requests for information; supplemental instructions and other contract documentation are required on behalf of ESDG.
− Ensures each subcontractor is provided with ESDG’s subcontract package and all agreements, submittals, required government documents, W-9, Certificate of Insurance, Certified Payroll, Lien Waivers, Schedule of Values, etc. are signed and returned to ESDG headquarters.
− Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures to complying with legal regulations and OSHA standards.
−Schedules and conducts required Pre-Construction Contractor Quality Control (CQC) and safety meetings with every individual on the jobsite.
− Communicates progress of projects to the Project Manager and ensures deadlines are met.
−Provides coordination and input as needed with contractors providing services and infrastructure for the project including schedule and cost management.
−Monitors and ensures schedule performance and quality workmanship of contractors.
− Prepares and submits daily log and reports of construction activities to requiring authority.
−Reviews change proposals, proposal requests, requests for information, supplemental instructions and other contract documentation as required on behalf of ESDG.
−Reviews and approves subcontractor payment requests and forward them to the Project Manager for approval.
− Attends local meetings, approval meetings, conferences on behalf of ESDG. Documents and takes action on items in ESDG’s interests.
− Maintains relationships and act as ESDG’s liaison in matters associated with Federal, State and Municipal matters including the City’s permitting and construction inspection requirements to ensure expeditions and successful delivery of project goals and objectives.
− Must possess a thorough understanding of commercial construction industry practices and standards.
− Ensures safe, secure, and healthy work environment is maintained by following and enforcing standards and procedures to comply with legal regulations and OSHA standards.
− Evaluates construction projects by conducting inspections at critical phases; obtains approvals from customers.
− Assists in the review and approval of subcontractor payment requests.
−Manages small projects with the oversight of a Project Manager.
− Attends required meetings and conferences on behalf of ESDG. Document and take action on items in ESDG’s interests.
−Completes continuing education requirements.
− Updates job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging construction practices and standards; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
−Performs a variety of other duties as assigned and special projects as needed.
− Construction experience required.
− USACE Construction Quality Control certification OR First Aid required.
− OSHA 30 required.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
