Master Scheduler
The Material Analyst is responsible for creating and maintaining the Master Production Schedule based on customer demand, and KPI’s; including maximized productivity of equipment and labor while minimizing inventory levels, perform exceptional customer service and minimize the amount of over-time required. The Material Analyst should also have a practical knowledge of the manufacturing processes, and equipment capabilities in order to determine the appropriate scheduling technique for capacity control.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
- Two years experience required.
- American Purchasing and Inventory Control Society Certification: certified in purchasing & inventory control or certified supply chain professional, preferred but not required, proficient in enterprise resource planning systems and materials requirement planning, with knowledge of system set up, and ability to act on exception messages as generated by the system to ensure customer delivery is not disrupted.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Understand the concepts of make-to stock, make-to-order, assemble-to-order, and engineering-to-order and the influence these concepts have on capacity, labor and material requirements.
- Solid knowledge in inventory material control, and customer forecasting. Analytical ability of material requirements to meet customer demand. Working knowledge of Production material systems. Strong reporting, written, and oral
- Communication skills. Strong skill level of computer systems and programs.
- Uses professional concepts and company policies and processes to solve a wide range of problems in imaginative and practical ways in a Wide range of areas to make independent decisions. Semi-regular checks with mgmt. and works Within generally defined practices. Analysis/evaluation of identifiable factors.
- Provide work direction to less senior staff.
- Widely defined projects requiring multi-task completion. Significant impact on company/division.
This position manages production and packaging line requirements, and can influence the amount of over-time needed by our direct labor workforce. The position is also responsible for inventory levels of finished goods, and work in process. Cash flow impact $100K-$300K.
This position is responsible for analyzing an updated customer forecast each and every month. The customer forecast is entered into our ERP system and then converted into a detailed schedule for 7 packaging lines and 6 production lines, critical thinking is required to meet customer demand, while considering our: available capacity for each line, available workforce, and available raw materials. The schedules that this responsible individual creates directly impacts the amount of material that is purchased on a day to day, and week to week basis.
