Job Summary
- Essential Functions: To provide primary care for persons of all ages via scheduled appointments as well as on a walk-in basis in accordance with the Tennessee Nurse Practice Act
- Documents all services
- Participates in outreach and screening activities
- Participates in quality assurance activities and staff meetings
- Maintains OSHA and HIPAA compliance
- Collaborates with other clinic staff, center manager, clinic director and preceptor
- Supervises staff as assigned
- Demonstrates a commitment to serving vulnerable populations
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge and skill in assessment, diagnoses, and treatment of common acute and chronic health conditions
- Knowledge of recognized standards of care
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Ability to organize and set priorities

Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in nursing with preparation in advanced practice nursing (FNP, ANP, PNP or other specialty as required for specific position)
- National certification in appropriate area
- Certificate of fitness to prescribe
- Current unencumbered license as registered nurse in Tennessee or compact state
- Experience as specified for each position

Job Duties
These are the job duties required of the position.Description of Job Duty
- Provides Advanced Practice Primary Care in compliance with the TN Nurse Practice Act.
- Assesses, diagnoses, and treats acute and chronic illnesses.
- Provides screening and health promotion. Prescribes, issues and monitors drugs.
- Provides patient and family education.
- Complies with OSHA, HIPAA, CLIA, Medicare, Medicaid, and other state and federal regulations.
- Documents accurately all services, including electronic or hard copy patient charts, encounter forms, coding.
- Collaborates with clinic staff, center manager, clinic director, and preceptor as needed to provide care.
- Supervises staff as assigned.
- Participates in quality assurance activities by evaluating own performance and identifying and implementing actions of continuous quality improvement.
- Participates in professional development to maintain certification and improve an update practice.
- Demonstrates a commitment to serving vulnerable populations. Treats all clients with respect.
