Job Summary:

The Quillen College of Medicine’s Family Medicine is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Social Worker vacancy at our Kingsport clinic. Position titles and salary will be determined based on education and licensure.

The Medical Social Worker is responsible to the Psychologist and Program Director at the Kingsport Family Medicine clinic for:

• referral and case management services
• teaching behavioral health and social science skills
• utilization of community resources, and case management processes for faculty, residents, students, and staff
• providing patient care and team-based care
• serving as a liaison to community organizations/ agencies
• performing various administrative responsibilities within the residency program
• performing other related duties as assigned

Those applicants that are a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) will be responsible for all of the above plus:

• Provide clinical patient care including psychoeducation, assessment, diagnosis clarification, crisis intervention, brief interventions, and motivational interviewing.

Those applicants who are a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) will responsible for all of the above plus:

• Opportunity to serve as a field instructor for the ETSU Department of Social Work Program
• Provide individual therapy

Required Qualifications:

Level 8:

• Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW).
• Experience: 1-year generalized social work experience. Work as a Graduate Assistant (GA), or an intern/extern will be considered.

Level 9:

• Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW).
• Licensure: Active Tennessee licensure as a Master Social Worker (LMSW).
• Experience: 1-year generalized social work experience.

Level 10:

• Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW).
• Licensure: Active Tennessee licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
• Experience: 2 years post-licensure experience as an LCSW.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates who are actively pursuing LMSW status, or who hold an LMSW or LCSW

Pay: $57,910.00 - $64,645.00 per year
