Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled F5 Load Balancer Engineer with expertise in F5 iRules, Load Balancing, and Application Traffic Management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining load balancing solutions to ensure high availability, performance, and security for enterprise applications.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 10 years of hands-on experience with F5 Big-IP LTM, GTM, ASM, APM and iRules development.
- Strong proficiency in iRules (TCL scripting) and F5 automation using Python, Ansible, or REST API.
- In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL/TLS, DNS, and network security protocols.
- Experience in Layer 4-7 load balancing, application delivery controllers (ADC), and cloud-based load balancing (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
- Familiarity with troubleshooting tools like Wireshark, TCPDump, and F5 analytics.
- Experience integrating F5 with web applications, microservices, and containerized environments (Kubernetes, Docker) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve network/application issues.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
F5 req: Expertise in F5 Device VIP/Pool Add Modify
- Solid knowledge and experience to work on F5 iRule logic
- Experience with F5 Network troubleshooting
- Experience with F5 Device Upgrade Assistance
- Experience with F5 Network Monitoring
- Experience with Vulnerability tracking and patching
- Experience with Application Data Flow Analysis
- Knowledge of Ansible
- 24x7 on call rotation
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure, manage, and optimize F5 LTM (Local Traffic Manager), GTM (Global Traffic Manager), and ASM (Application Security Manager) for enterprise applications.
- Develop and troubleshoot F5 iRules (TCL scripting) to customize traffic handling, security, and load balancing requirements.
- Monitor and improve application traffic flow through F5 load balancers, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
- Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks, application issues, and network security vulnerabilities in the F5 ecosystem.
- Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to design and deploy effective load balancing solutions.
- Implement SSL Offloading, Compression, and Traffic Encryption techniques to enhance security and performance.
- Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and incident resolution related to F5 devices and load balancing configurations.
- Maintain F5 appliances by applying firmware upgrades, patches, and security updates.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and troubleshooting guides.
Preferred Certifications:
- F5 Certified Administrator (F5-CA)
- F5 Certified Technical Specialist (F5-CTS LTM, GTM)
- Cisco CCNA/CCNP or equivalent networking certification (preferred but not required)
