Job Description
Position Title: Instructional Paraprofessional
Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Completion of 48 semester hours of post-secondary education required. Child Development Associate Certificate (CDA) preferred. Coursework in the field of Early Childhood or Child Development preferred. Must meet NCLB Highly Qualified Paraprofessional criteria.
Reports To: Principal or Designee
Supervises: Students
Job Goal: Assist certified staff assigned by the principal
Length of Contract: 183 Days
Performance Responsibilities:
- Participate in daily and long-range planning for assigned area.
- Prepare classroom materials and develop activities for assigned area.
- Conduct activities with individuals and small groups in assigned areas.
- Assist in preparing class displays and bulletin boards for assigned areas.
- Assist in duties related to assigned area.
- Assist with classroom management in assigned area.
- Assist with clerical work, projects and programs, special events and field trips in assigned area.
- Alert the teacher to special needs of individual students in assigned area.
- Maintain confidentiality with regard to student performance and records.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by the Principal/Designee, as long as they are not in conflict with board policy.
Evaluation: Evaluation is conducted by the Principal/Designee
Salary: Established by the Board of Education as recommended by the Superintendent
