Schedule: Hours based on need.

Usually: Monday-Friday 7am-3pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Eugene Mission is a Christ-centered organization which shares Hope with hurting people. The Warehouse Logistics Leaderr supports the success of the Eugene Mission’s transformational programs and operations. The leadership team is responsible for assessing the overall needs of the guests of the Eugene Mission to develop, implement, and maintain programs and services which impact growth and the future development of guests, including self-sustaining growth towards employment, sustainable income, and stable housing.

· The Warehouse Logistics Leader provides leadership in three domains: 1) excellence in the of the Eugene Mission including assisting with inventory management, guest and volunteer engagement, and donor cultivation; 2) Donation Processing for Food Services and Donations Warehouse 3) Helps with the Community Partner Gleaning Program that utilizes safe excess food; cultivates community partner relationships; stewards donations and trims waste.

Responsibilities/Tasks:

  • Train and supervise volunteers to assist in daily warehouse operations
  • Schedule volunteer shifts and ensure a welcoming and positive experience for volunteers, guests, and donors
  • Foster strong relationships with volunteers and donors by recognizing their contributions and providing clear communication about organizational goals and needs.
  • Serves as a point of contact for donors, ensuring timely and courteous communication
  • Manages volunteer drivers for food donation route, covering route when volunteers are unavailable
  • Assist in receiving, documenting, and acknowledging donations, maintaining accurate records

· Helps with the Community Partner Gleaning Program that utilizes safe excess food; cultivates community partner relationships; stewards donations and trims waste.

· Works with the development and communication team to share volunteer and donor stories that highlight the impact of contributions.

  • Works within the community, especially those donating food, to improve the standing and reputation of the Mission. Assists with ongoing relations with major in-kind donors to optimize in kind donations.
  • Assists in donation pickup and delivery for In-Kind Donations warehouse as needed.
  • Unloads Truck to sorting area.
  • Properly transfer donated food items to proper storage area; fridges, freezers, coolers, dry, etc. in a timely manner adhering to food safety guidelines.
  • Sort all products; Eugene Mission needs, Gleaning needs and unneeded to hog bins.
  • Rotate, prepare and stage milk for service. Stage milk waste at dumping sight.
  • Freezer work.
  • Assists with inventory, food rotation, and warehouse management systems to steward all donated and purchased food and/or equipment.
  • Performs Kitchen duties as assigned.

· Attend and supports all assigned staff meetings.

  • Adheres to agency policy, procedures, and the professional code of ethics.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Hospitality and Culinary Arts Director/Executive Director.
  • Trash and recycling – boxes broken down; trash areas clean of debris.
  • Warehouse/cooler cleanliness.

· Butcher shop and Trash room cleanliness.

· All carts cleaned and staged.

· Pallet removal- stacks of pallets removed after large deliveries.

· Crates and bread rack sorting and removal -sort crates into colors, palletize excess crates, and shrink wrap.

· Pest management- Bait traps, place traps and remove when appropriate.

· Report vehicle and appliance repair and maintenance needs to Facilities Director.

· Represents and presents on behalf of Eugene Mission as assigned, occasional media interviews.

· Supports activities and daily operations of the R³ and Life Change Programs as they pertain to the Mission-wide emphasis on wellness especially as it relates to Warehouse Life Skills.

· Serves as a Coach to and Life Change participants and mentor to volunteers, especially as it relates Culinary and Hospitality Life Skill Track.

Education, Skills, and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Compassion for the hurting, a heart to serve the community, and a relational approach.

· Interest in long term, holistic solutions to poverty and homelessness - one person at a time.

· Comfort level in working with a diverse population, including those with addiction, extensive trauma, criminal history, and mental health issues.

· Mature interpersonal communication skills and an ease with de-escalation strategies.

· Demonstrates humility, honesty, integrity, and servant-leadership skills.

· Ability to foster a cooperative work environment; supervise/ train volunteers and staff to include coaching, organizing, prioritizing, and coordinating work assignments.

· Ability to work independently and exemplary ability to work well within a collaborative team environment with a diverse group of people.

· Organizational and time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and projects with an attention to detail.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and ability to learn new systems quickly.

· 5 years of experience in management and the food industry.

· Driver’s License: CDL

· Forklift experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.

· Ability to walk, bend, stoop, and lift moderate weights (75 lbs.) daily.

· Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone and in person.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
